Wiston Steam Rally, now in its sixth year, is being hailed as one of the largest gatherings of heritage vehicles in Sussex.

Rollers, road locomotives, lorries, showman’s engines and miniature engines will be getting up a head of steam to entertain the thousands expected to attend the show, on Saturday and Sunday.

“We are delighted to be hosting a weekend of fun-filled family entertainment at Wiston for the sixth year.” said Anne Whittingstall, of Sussex Steam Shows. “We have had overwhelming support from our exhibitors and visitors over the past six years and are excited to be putting on one of the largest steam rallies in Sussex and raising money for local charities.”

There will be a full programme of events in the arena, including the steam parade, vintage vehicle parades and a family favourite, the Steam Games, plus the opportunity to steer a full-size steam engine.

A steam powered demonstration of wood cutting will be on offer at the saw benches and stationary engines will also be on display.

Traditional funfair rides and a craft and food tent will be among the other attractions, together with 90 motorcycles from the BSA Bantam Club, visiting Wiston for their own national rally.
