Bandmaster Martyn Streeter said: “It is so important that this day is remembered even in these unprecedented times.

“Although mass gatherings are not permitted, we at Petworth Town Band feel it is still important to mark the occasion in some form.

“To this end, Nathan Fynes a resident of Petworth and a long-standing member of the Town Band, will be sounding the Last Post at 11am from the War Memorial and then playing at 3pm from Rosemary Gardens in Petworth.

“Both of these performances will be live streamed which can be watched via the Petworth Town Council Facebook Page. The performance at 3pm will comprise 1940s tunes including The White Cliffs of Dover, We’ll Meet Again, Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory and of course Sussex by the Sea.

“It has been requested that people do not come out to watch but to enjoy the live stream instead from the comfort of their own home.”
