Two from two for new boys YM Reserves on the road

YM made it two wins from two on the road with another good team performance against Crowborough at the Community Stadium.

Horsham started the brighter of the two sides and pressured the Crows in the first 20 minutes without finding the breakthrough. The hosts were then awarded a penalty to the dismay of a number of visiting players, but YM stopper Flack stood firm to make the save.

The hosts got into the game and on 38 minutes took the lead with a good finish. Within a minute YM had levelled, straight from kick off Jude Nwachukwu went on a barnstorming run before laying the ball back for Hass Shurmahi to fire home his first goal for the club and make it 1-1 at the break.

YM got the second half started in style when a sublime ball from central midfielder Russell Curtis found Ben Brooker who, with work still to do finished well to put YM ahead.

This time it was Crows’ turn to respond straight away and within two minutes it was 2-2 afetr a mix-up between Flack and Cobby.

But YM were not to be denied and grabbed all three points when Brooker and Curtis combined again, Brooker this time returning the favourto tee up Curtis to find the corner for a 3-2 win.

Hass Shurmahi was awarded man of the match for his industrious work-rate and effort.
