Team GB women beat India 3-0

Great Britain women's hockey team continued their 100 per cent record at the Rio Olympics with a stunning 3-0 victory against India last night.

Goals by Giselle Ansley, Nicola White and Alex Danson sealed the comfortable win.

The team includes East Grinstead Hockey Club duo Laura Unsworth and Sophie Bray in its starting line-up.

West Chiltington-based Madeline Hinch is playing in goal, while a third EG player, Kirsty Mackay, is the reserve keeper.

Ansley gave Britain the lead from a penalty corner, which was then followed up with a goal bundled in by White to set a 2-0 lead at half-time.

Lili Owsley teed up Danson for their third goal which continued their perfect start to the competition.

The superb victory follows on from GB’s opening 2-0 win against Australia on Saturday.

Team GB lead Group B with six points and are ahead of the USA on goal-difference.

Britain face Argentine in their next match on Wednesday at 5.30pm.
