Table tennis: Horsham beat stablemates

Horsham B produced possibly the shock of the week in their 5-4 defeat of clubmates Horsham A in the Crawley & Horsham Table Tennis League.

Even though the A team were missing Dan Barna they had a strong replacement in Simon Dilkes. A tremendous team effort saw Steve Pond winning two and only losing to Steve Barby in the fifth. Mark Collins continued his consistent form with two good wins and Dan Pound beat Tony Catt 9 on the fifth and only lost in the fifth to Simon Dilkes.

Foresters D 8 Horsham E 1

A convincing win for Foresters with Adam Daley and Glyn Hydes scoring maximums. Harry Collins won Horsham’s solitary point.

Horsham Spinners 6 Horsham C 3

Another tight contest with Rory Scott scoring a maximum although pushed to five by Colin Jones and Graham Carter. Alan Stone won two including a great win over Carter. Matt Van Yperen had a good win over Michael Bridger.

Trinity A 6 Horsham B 3

Raj Waterman underlined his quality with another maximum. Horsham lost the first five sets and then fought back winning the next three. Graham Beaney won two and Mo Amin had a convincing straight sets victory.

Two other results saw Crawley Comm. A beat Foresters C 7-2, and Crawley Comm. B beat Foresters B by the same score.
