Joe LAUNCHBURY and Will Collier helped guide England Under-20s to the IRB Junior World Championship final with a tense win over France in last night’s semi-final.

Ex Christ’s Hospital pupil Launchbury, playing at tighthead prop and former Cranleigh School student Collier, playing at second row, featured heavily in the match as England won 33-18 in Treviso, Italy.

England struggled to find their best form to trail 18-13 at the break, but two second half tries saw them score 20 unanswered points against their Northern Hemisphere rivals to book their third Junior World Championship final in four years.

Harlequins ace Collier and Launchbury, of London Wasps, played all of the match bar the last three minutes when both were substituted, and will hope to keep their place in the side for the final against New Zealand, who beat them in the final in both 2008 and 2009, in Padova on Sunday.
