HORSHAM Rugby Club want a top four finish in London South East 3 this year after an encouraging summer.
The Green and Whites have avoided the kind of exodus which blighted their preparations for the 2010-11 campaign and resulted in an up and down season. And with a few key additions, skipper Simon Matterface believes his side could be challenging at the sharp end.
He said: “We are much stronger than we were last year and it is looking positive for the season.
“I would see no reason why we cannot be a top four team. Looking back at some of the teams we lost to last season, I would be disappointed if we lost to them with the strength of side we have now.” While there have been no major departures during the summer, the Coolhurst outfit have recruited centre Liam Yates from Worthing - joining his brothers at the club - and towering number eight Greg Holt from neighbours Holbrook. In addition to that, the likes of Will Johnson and full back Tom Wright, who both missed the majority of last season through injury, will feel like brand new additions to the side.
Matterface remarked: “We want to try and get the consistency which is key for any side.”
