Holbrook RUFC climbed a place to fourth in Sussex Division with a convincing 44-10 defeat of third placed Chichester III on Saturday.

In a match dominated by the Holbrook forwards, the opening try came from a push over score by Simon Ley.

More dominant scrums brought tries for Lee Taylor and Alex Meredith, who ran good angles while the final Holbrook try of the half went to Jamie Boon who touched down in the corner.

Chichester added a try of their own shortly before the break, but Holbrook were in commanding form, and Ben Wells scored the try of the game after great interplay with Taylor  who then was then fortunate to get on the scoresheet again when the Chichester full back gifted him a try.

Ley scored off a driving maul and captain Paul Davey concluded the Holbrook scoring with a rampaging run, ahead of Chichester’s late consolation.
