Right from the kick-off, Green were able to execute phase after phase, gaining territory and forcing infringements from the home side.

After an easy penalty slotted by Rory Yeates, winger Jack Osgood scored the first try. Centre Lewis Dodsley scythed through a Littlehampton midfield on the back foot, before sending a smart pass to Osgood, who ran in from 30 yards.

Another try soon followed, with returning winger Cullen Connors ruthlessly finishing a smart backs move and showing the fast feet he has become renowned for.

After another score, finished by mobile prop Matt Taylor, the game reached 22-0 at the break.

In the second half, Green continued to apply the pressure. Half-backs Joe Serna and George Wilson exerted real control, helping the away side to punch holes in a flagging Littlehampton defence.

Osgood bagged his second following some more smart play from Taylor, with the prop drawing the opposition winger and offloading a cheeky pass for a score in the corner. Dodsley capped a fine personal performance with a score for himself, cantering in from close range.

To their credit, the home side then began to show some resolve, with the direct play Green were expecting. Firstly, applying pressure in Green’s half to go over for an unconverted try, and secondly using their heavier forwards to disrupt and slow-down Green’s tempo.

After camping out in the Littlehampton 22 for a long period, Green finally finished the game with a well-executed driving maul, which allowed replacement front rower, Danny Conway, to power over for the try.

Captain Serna was pleased with the result, although hinted at a need to be more clinical in the games to come.

Next up for Green is a local derby at home to Horsham Barbarians this weekend, in what promises to be a tight and enthralling contest.
