Horsham Blue Star Harriers under-13s sealed an impressive second place finish in the Sussex West Division after the final league match of the season.
Although missing several regulars the young Horsham athletes managed to finish more than 100 points clear of Worthing in third, and were only beaten into second on the day by Crawley AC.
Sophie Ragg produced a personal best leap in the long jump to win the A event in 4.25m and also took a second place in the high jump with a clearance at 1.30m, with Abby Lee winning the B event with 1.25m.
Jade Lindo and Ellie Walker won the B strings of the 150m and javelin respectively and there was a good run from Romy van der Veen in the 1,000m to take second place in 3m43.0s.
The boys’ events saw a good win in the high jump by Connor Dearden who cleared 1.33m, with club mate Luke Sprigge winning the B event with 1.20m. Connor also won the B string 1000m in 3m25.7s, where Josh Eeles took second place in the A race in 3m13.3s. Josh won the B string javelin with a throw of 21.41m, with Jared Allerton taking second place in the A event with 22.74m. Zac Massey ran well to take second place in the A string 75m in 10.4s and with Hugh Ragg both took second places in the long jump; Ragg jumping 4.01m in the A string and Zac 3.76m in the B event.
The 4x100m relay boys (58.1s) and girls (57.8s) both took second place.
