Hot sunshine bathed Horsham Cricket Club’s ground for the sixth annual festival of stoolball, held on Tuesday June 24 for the primary and junior schools in the area.

Teams of eight players, including both boys and girls, each played five matches of eight overs per innings during the day and proved just how much they had learned from the Stoolball England coaches during their lunch time and after-school clubs this summer.

Kingslea Primary School in Horsham, with some first class fielding, competent batting and sensible bowling were the eventual winners, going through the whole day undefeated.

Southwater A were runners-up after a count back on runs scored showed that they had edged out last year’s winners All Saints and Meath Green A from Horley in Surrey.
