Large field expected for Southwater triathlon

More than 400 competitors are expected to splashdown in Southwater Country Park for the annual Southwater Relay Triathlon on Sunday, organised by Horsham Amphibians Triathlon Club.

Experienced athletes and first time novices will be taking part in the race completed in teams of three, each member swims 400m in the lake, cycles 18.5km on a route through Southwater, Brooks Green, Coolham, Buck Barn then back to the Country Park before a 3.8km around the Country Park.

Triathlon is a sport for all at any level from people aiming to win local events to just getting around the course. You do not need to be super fit to complete a triathlon, you just need to be able to swim, ride a bike and run.
