HORSHAM Joggers spring marathon training stepped up a gear at the weekend as preparations for the Brighton and London challenges neared their peak.
The Joggers were well represented in the Worthing 20 mile Road Race in perfect weather conditions at Goring.
The race was the latest in the Sussex Grand Prix series giving the club’s points total a massive boost. Steve Nicholls led the team home in 21st place, finishing in a superb 2hours 11mins 2s. Mark Greet followed close behind in 31st spot (2h 13m 30s).
Rachael Guckenheim led the club’s females home in an excellent 2h 29m 22s, taking 15th position overall in the ladies race. Overall, the 30 strong team put in some fine performances as they build towards next month’s marathons.
Elsewhere, a few fellow members travelled to Dunsfold to race the Surrey Tempest 10 mile and Spitfire 20 mile races.
