Horsham on cloud nine with table tennis whitewash

Formidable Horsham B proved their credentials with a crushing 9-0 defeat of Foresters D in the latest round of matches in the Crawley & Horsham Table Tennis League.

Father and son duo Steve and Dan Pound recorded a treble each, as did youngster Mark Collins as Mike Daley, Chris Pullinger and Inken Diederich were overpowered.

It was a similar story as Horsham A showed no mercy against Premier Newcomers Trinity A.

Dan Barna, Steve Barby, Tony Catt all came away with 100 per cent records as the Trinity trio of Joe Comper, Ben Dewsbury and Graham Beaney came away empty handed.

Horsham C youngsters Michael Bridger and George Hazell gave a good account of themselves in a 6-3 loss to Foresters C

Michael managed a win against Foresters’ Matt Craig, while George went close against Phil Nicholls, losing 11-6 in the fifth. Colin Jones added a double for Horsham, but Foresters had enough to seal the victory.

Mark Weston, Nick Smith and Stephen Hoad notched for Horsham D in their 6-3 loss to Foresters B, for whom Johnny Clarke and Gerry Pugh scored the points. Don Thomas, playing up from Division 1, felt the heat and was unable to contribute.

And Horsham E were outclassed by Foresters A, for whom Adam Todd, Wesley Bush-Harris and David Steel all scored trebles.
