Horsham need win to reach play-offs

HORSHAM Hockey Club Men’s first XI have set up a final game shootout in their bid to reach the South League play-offs.

Starting Sunday’s clash against Marden Russets in third place, Horsham recovered from twice going behind to win 3-2 through Freddie Campbell, John Burroughs and Nathan Hill goals. It now means Horsham can snatch second place and claim a Kent/Sussex Regional League play-off berth with a win against champions Sutton Valence tonight.

A delighted Burroughs said: “As they have already won the title this may play into our hands a little bit. We’ve got a mountain to climb but we have done the first stage so we are very happy.”
