Henfield Tennis Club has been awarded the coveted ‘Clubmark’ accreditation by the Lawn Tennis Association.

Tony Jackson, club vice-chairman, received the award from Liz Bartlett of Sussex LTA.

He and ex-chairman Wendy Whittaker painstakingly put together all the required documentation, practices and controls necessary to achieve this award, which has great significance for the tennis club.

Henfield Tennis Club chairman Digby Stephenson said: “This award is proof that HTC is a properly organised and competently managed club, which should both attract new members, and make grant or loan applications more achievable. I am very grateful to everyone in the club who made this possible by their hard work.” The club will be accredited for four years.
