Hayley closes in on commentary prize

HAYLEY MOORE is hoping to land her ‘dream job’ this month, when she competes in the semi-finals of The Filly Factor; a competition to find Britain’s first ever female horse racing commentator.

Hayley, daughter of legendary race horse trainer Gary, beat off competition from around 40 other hopefuls to reach the last eight of the competition which was launched last month by lovetheraces.com.

“It’s been brilliant so far, and I’ve learnt so much,” Hayley, from Lower Beeding, said. “I jumped at the chance. To me, it’s a dream job.”

She reached the semi-finals after impressing judges with her commentary on a recorded race. She will now need to prove herself with a live race at Doncaster racecourse, in front of the crowd and a judging panel, on Sunday (June 12) to be in with a chance of the final at Ascot, where she will call a live race, and fight it out to win a £2,500 prize and a place on the prestigious Commentary Training Course.
