HORSHAM golfer Marco Penge joined Ryder Cup stars Justin Rose and Oliver Fisher as winners of the Laddie Lucas Spoon last week he shot a remarkable three under par at Princes Golf Club.
The prestigious junior event held annually at the famous Kent links attracted a field of 50 golfers, and 1.9 handicapper Marco’s round was good enough to be seven shots clear of the feidls - the next best score was four over par.
And it was especially pleasing for the 12-year-old Horsham youngster, who is a member at Worthing and the Dyke Club, as he lost last year’s competition on countback.
The Laddie Lucas Spoon is a club donated by its owner P.B. (Laddie) Lucas, who was a distinguished amatuer before World War Two.
