England netball ace Rosie targets Commonwealth Games

ROSIE ALLISON is on the fast-track to England glory – and the Littleworth netball ace insists she is not about to take her foot off the gas.

Former Steyning Grammar School pupil Rosie has been named in the England senior squad for the 2011 season.

And although the World Netball Championships in July is possibly too soon for her, a three game series against New Zealand this month will act as a perfect ‘fact finding’ mission as she prepares for the Superleague season and European Under-19 Netball Championships.

“It was an amazing feeling to be selected for the senior squad and to get that recognition,” Rosie said. “It’s all about learning how the squad works.”

She now plays for Team Bath, where she is based studying biology. “Hopefully if I am playing well for Team Bath I can get myself to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.”
