EARLY personal bests set the trend for the day when Atlantis held its annual Spring Open Meet on May 6, attended by clubs from across the South East.

The day was an opportunity for the club’s swimmers from age nine and above to compete for medals and those personal best times, which began in the first event and continued throughout the day.

Atlantis swimmers collected well-deserved medals as well, just rewards for the hours of training put in the pool as the team had achieved 150 personal best times, a truly fantastic performance.

The individual winners were James Hartley (12), Natasha Golding (13), Rose Stride (11), Beth Hundleby (15), James North (ten), Aimee Davies (12), Lily Cherriman (11), George Boyle (14), Cavan Murphy (13), Rebecca Barber (nine) and Edward Hundleby (13).

It was an extremely well-attended and well-managed event.

Head coach Bill Penny said: “The swimmers should be very proud of themselves, it shows what hard work in the pool can achieve and that Atlantis keeps producing great home grown talent in depth.”
