Horsham hand title-chasing Tanners a real scare
Jamie Cade’s first-half goal had threatened to cause a shock before two goals in four minutes from second half substitute Theo Fairweather-Johnson handed title-chasing Leatherhead a 2-1 win over battling Horsham on Wednesday night.
Gary Charman’s Hornets were playing their third game in only five days but playing away at one of the toughest ground to get points from they showed little sign of tiredness, and lead 1-0 after an hour thanks to in-form Cade’s 19th minute opener.
Fairweather-Johnson had been brought on at half-time to liven up the Tanners attack, and he struck with goals in the 65th and 69th minute as the hosts took the points to stay on the coattails of Ryman South leaders Peacehaven & Telscombe.
