Crawley Town recorded one of the biggest results in their history when they beat Premier League outfit Leeds United 3-0 at The People's Pension Stadium in the third round back in January.

But, despite the result being one of the more memorable upset of this year's competition, it is only the seventh biggest upset in terms of league position.

Sixty-two places separated the Reds and the Whites, but this paled in comparison to the achievements of National League North outfit Chorley.

The Magpies managed to record three wins that are recorded amongst the top ten FA Cup upsets of the year.

The Lancashire team beat local neighbours and 2012-13 FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic in the first round, at a time when a difference of 70 places existed between the two.

Following that, the difference between Chorley and League One side Peterborough United, 91 league places, was the largest out of any FA Cup tie making it the biggest FA Cup upset of the year.

The Magpies then, in the third round, knocked out Championship side Derby County, but this was less of an upset in terms of then league position difference as the Rams were 83 places higher at the time the match was played.

Marine, from the eighth tier of English football, dramatically went from playing against Tadcaster Albion and Pickering Town to Tottenham Hotspur after the Merseyside club produced back-to-back upsets.

Marine’s first round win against Havant & Waterlooville saw them beat a side 42 places higher than them, making it the ninth biggest upset of this year’s cup.

But the Mariners surpassed that achievement by claiming the second greatest upset, knocking out League Two side Colchester United, a team which stood 90 places ahead of them in the football pyramid at the time of the match.

Darlington’s 2-1 victory over Swindon Town (71 places) ranks fourth in the top ten while Oxford City's 2-1 win at home to Northampton Town (64 places) is sixth.

Stevenage's penalty shootout triumph over 2013-14 FA Cup finalists Hull City (44 places) is eighth while Stockport County's 2-1 win against Rochdale (40 places) completes the top ten.
