He said: “We are at the end of the season now, we have ten games to go and we have to get the town behind us to try and get as many of these 30 points as we can.

“There has never been a season like.

“Yes Port Vale were below us, but they still are below us. Colchester, Southend, Mansfield, they are all clubs that are paying fortunes. I don’t moan about stuff like that because I know I will pick a side who will work their nuts off for me.”

Sam Matthews made a positive returned from injury as a substitute against Port Vale but the injury is still long.

Tom Dallison, Reece Grego-Cox and Mark Wright are just a few of the names who are currently struggling with injuries - Yems even added he could field a team just with the people who are out at the moment.

He said: “We are playing players who might not be fit enough to play but they are going out there doing their best.

“There are a number we can’t pick because of injuries.

“And when they do come back we will give them 20 minutes and then we are criticised for having a different selection.

“The last thing we want is them to get injured straight away so that’s why we do change the shape, we do fit people in square holes.

“The lads have been fantastic at doing that this season. We just get on with it.

“The fans used to appreciate that when I was first here but now everyone has their say and criticised when we lose to teams who are below us.”
