'We deserved what we got in the end and it could have been a lot more' - Crawley Town manager John Yems after Bradford City win

Goals in either half from defenders Jordan Tunnicliffe and Joe McNerney propelled the Reds to a well-earned win and snap a seven game winless run.

Victory sees Crawley rise to 13th in League Two ahead of Friday's rearranged game with top-of-the-table Cheltenham Town at The People's Pension Stadium.

Yems said: "We've come here with a plan that we've been working on. We stuck to the plan, no different to what we do.

"We worked through things and and every man took to it. We deserved what we got in the end and it could have been a lot more.

"You can't fault any of them for effort. The two centre-halves scored goals, defended well, young (James) Tilley did well, (so did) Archie (Davies) and Nick Tsaroulla.

"You can keep going on. Powelly (Jack Powell), Josh Wright, everybody deserved it tonight.

"I just think we looked fitter than them. To be fair they (Bradford) are a good side and they've got some good players.

"But we stuck to what we had to do and on the night we were better than what they were.

"They might have a different view of it but we thoroughly deserved it."

The Reds now have just six games left of the 2020-21 season, starting with Friday's game against the Robins.

And Crawley boss Yems has called on his side to finish the campaign with a flourish.

He said: "You've got to look forward. We want to finish the season (strongly) because who knows where that will take us.

"We want to be as high as we can be and challenge teams.

"We're not going to lay down for anybody. If we get beaten, we want them to earn the right to beat us and I think that was apparent tonight.

"I said to the lads, it could be a completely different performance and team on Friday but, as long as we put the work rate in and the consistency that we're looking for, game on."
