'They outplayed us and we didn't compete well enough' - Crawley Town manager John Yems reflects on Newport County loss

Manager John Yems admitted Crawley Town were outplayed and 'just weren't at it' in their 2-0 defeat at play-off chasing Newport County in League Two this (Tuesday) evening.

Liam Shephard put the Exiles ahead on 52 minutes before Tom Nichols was shown a straight red for an elbow with a minute of normal time remaining.

Right back Aaron Lewis then struck in the tenth minute of second half stoppage time to wrap up the win for Newport County.

Yems said: "We just weren't at it tonight. It wasn't our night.

"We weren't good enough all round the pitch. They outplayed us and we didn't compete well enough.

"It's just so frustrating but it is what it is. It's there three points and we've got another nine to play for.

"We'll move on to the next one. That's all you can do."
