SCFL Supplementary Shield semi-final picture special: Loxwood advance to final after dramatic shootout win over Newhaven

Loxwood booked their place in the SCFL Premier Division Supplementary Shield final with a dramatic 8-7 penalty shootout win over Newhaven at Worthing’s Woodside Road in the semis on Saturday.

A penalty apiece from Ian Robinson and the Magpies’ Luke Brodie saw the scores level at the break. Lukas Franzen-Jones restored the Dockers’ lead five minutes in to the second half.

But, at the death, Jack Frankland’s cross found Tadley Bromage who powered home to force penalties. And Loxwood keeper Fraser Trigwell was the hero as he kept out Newhaven's sudden death spot-kick to see the Magpies through to the final.

Loxwood will play the winners of tonight's semi-final showdown between Lancing and Lingfield.

Photographer Phil Westlake was at Worthing's Woodside Road to capture the drama, Here are a selection of his pictures.
