The first match post lockdown saw Atletico score some fantastic goals, with both Romario Moratalla and Aaron Woodhams grabbing hat tricks.

Bears started the game on the front foot and dominated the early minutes until a clearance was collected at the half way line by Moratalla who drove forward and slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to take the lead. Bears pulled one straight back although from that point it was one way traffic. Woodhams grabbed the second with a strike from outside the penalty area as he attacked down the inside left channel.

The introduction of Josh Davidson at the mid way point of the first half really changed the Atletico performance. Moratalla grabbed his second from a smart Euan Gulliver pass. Henry Dinsdale scored the fourth from a wonderful mazy dribble through the Bears midfield and defence. Luca Harris passed to Woodhams for Atletico’s fifth and Euan Gulliver created Moratalla’s third.

The second half was more sedate, Jack Dann, Dan Klamm, Tim Clifford and Fin Ledingham were steadfast in defence and ‘keeper Theo Botevyle had little to do, although was assured when called upon. A Dinsdale pass to Woodhams led to his hat trick, before Bears pulled one more back. Late on, Dann was unlucky with a goal ruled out for offside and Josh Gibson could have been considered to have been fouled in the Bears penalty box.

Manager, Ricardo Moratalla said: “I’m delighted with the result and more so with our performance. The attacking unit in particular were excellent with some fantastic passing and moving. Every goal was a stunner today and I’m delighted we have come out of lockdown with such a strong team performance.”
