HORNETS boss Hugo Langton has added a centre back and an attacking midfielder to his ranks.
Centre half Louie Hollingsworth – who had a brief spell at Horsham this season under previous boss Justin Luchford – and experienced midfielder JP Collier have signed after impressing in training on Thursday night.
Hollingsworth, in his early 20s has rejoined from Merstham. Langton said: “He played a couple of games under Justin but when I took over I had plenty of defensive options.
“It’s not worked out for him at Merstham since a new manager took over so we have taken him back and he’ll shore up our back line.”
And on Collier, who has joined from Whitstable and has experience playing in the Conference for Fisher, Langton said: “He’s been training with us for a little while and he looked brilliant last night, nice and sharp.
“He’s played in the Conference so brings great experience with him, it’s a terrific signing.”
Langton had a handful of other prospective new players at training last night and will make his mind up on them over the next couple of weeks.
Both Hollingsworth and Collier will go straight into Langton’s squad for this Saturday’s Ryman Premier match at Met Police.
Langton missed out on signing another ‘top quality’ experienced defender this week but is still hopeful he can lure a wide player who is out of favour at a Blue Square South club to Gorings Mead.
Langton said: “I let the players know in no uncertain terms last night that I have not been very happy with them since Saturday and told them what is expected of them this weekend.
“So it’s over to them tomorrow, they know what’s expected of them as individuals and as a team, they couldn’t be prepared any better.”
