Billingshurst manager Mark Betts said his side’s low tempo display in drawing 0-0 away to struggling TD Shipley was partly due to injury absences.
He was missing nearly his entire defence from the line-up which had trounced Roffey 5-0 on Saturday.
In a dour game Billinghurst had chances to score but Darren Annis (twice, once hitting the post) and Aston McLellan failed to find the net,
Betts said: “We should have taken the lead after five minutes when Nick Tilley blasted over the bar. We only had one regular defender (Ryan Carse) and it costs you at this level.”
Billingshurst are at home to Rottingdean Village in the quarter-final of the Vernon Wentworth Cup, kick-off 3pm.
