It was a hard-working team display for Roffey, who triumphed through goals from Jack Munday and Harri Nourse .

The home side had a few players unavailable but all those involved produced some of the best football of the season so far according to manager Julian Miller.

The strike partnership of Devon Fender and Nourse worked hard and that saw numerous chances created in the first half.

The visiting goalkeeper, however, made three fantastic saves to deny Fender as well as stops against efforts from Nourse and Gavin Fowler.

In the second half, Roffey upped their game and took the lead on 70 minutes when a Fender corner was played on by Ben Chowney for Munday to crash into the roof of the net.

Substitute was involved in the second eight minutes later as he, Fowler and Fender created a chance for Nourse which he finished superbly. Bosham got a goal back shortly afterwards through Dave Storey to make a much tighter end to the game, but Roffey held out.

Miller said: “The defence stayed strong and the work-rate was kept up to gain a huge victory.

“This was probably the best all-round performance from the team so far and the victory was thoroughly deserved. We move on to the next game and the work ethic and attitude has to be maintained.”
