HORSHAM YMCA manager John Cumberbatch believes his side’s shock 3-0 win against Metropolitan Police on Saturday will make the rest of the division sit up and take notice.
Gavin Gordon, Soloman Henry and Matt Simmons netted for YM as Ryman Division 1 South’s bottom side beat the leaders in comfortable fashion.
And boss Cumberbatch admits they may now have lost the element of surprise as he puts his stamp on the team.
He said: “There is an intensity and team spirit. They are buying into what we are saying as a management team, that we are not as bad as our position.
“I was pleased that we controlled the game, at no time did they feel superior to us, that’s something we have really worked on. Whereas Burgess Hill wiped the floor with us.
“It’s perhaps unfortunate for us, teams will not take us as a soft touch. But we are still bottom and we will still have games like the Burgess Hill one.”
