Horsham FC manager Simon Colbran has confirmed Ryan Woodford has agreed terms, and will be the team’s captain next season.
Woodford is a player Colbran knows well, and after a difficult 2011-12 season beset by injury, the midfielder has agreed to stay on at Gorings Mead.
Colbran said: “He is a quality player and is very committed.
“He winds everyone and gets people going, it’s brilliant news that he will be with us.”
Woodford broke his ankle at the end of the 2010-11 season, then missed much of the last campaign with a long term back complaint. And Colbran admits he may habve to go easy on his new skipper at first.
““He is over those injuries now,” he said. “We have to look after him a bit in pre-season but I am sure come the first game of the seaosn he will be raring to go.”
