No sweeping changes says new YM boss

NEW Horsham YMCA manager John Cumberbatch believes he can help his side achieve a mid-table finish this season.

Cumberbatch was appointed last week in the wake of Colin Jenkinson’s departure with YM rock bottom of the Ryman League Division 1 South. And with experience of helping drag a team up the table, from his time at Ashford Town, he is confident he can help the Gorings Mead side avoid the drop.

“I have got a lot of decisions to make for the first two to three games,” Cumberbatch said. “They will be very tough matches and this period of a month will be used to assess what we have.

“What I won’t do is go in there and make sweeping changes before I see what is there.

“We would like to be mid table by the end of the season. It’s going to be very difficult. If we manage to avoid relegation, then from our point of view that’s task done.”
