LOXWOOD manager Barry Hunter has promised reinforcements up front to solve their striking problems in County League Division 2.
Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Westfield demonstrated where the shot-shy Magpies have been suffering this season. With last season’s 29-goal man Damon Aston struggling with a succession of injuries, and Matt Hoyte electing to play rugby for Barns Green, Hunter’s men are light up front.
He said: “We are not looking like we are going to score a goal. We are getting the ball in the box, and sometimes the decision making is not great.
“We do not have that anticipation, movement or eye for goal we have had in the last few years. We did not have a clear chance in the whole game, and therein lies the problem.
“We are only halfway through the seaosn and we are not panicking, we have too much about us, but I will be looking to strengthen our options up front.”
