Loxwood and Broadbridge Heath football clubs could benefit from a Sussex County League shake-up.
The SCFL met on Monday to discuss increasing the size of their top flight to 22 clubs, as the league looks to strengthen the division after FA plans to scrap it were shelved. Loxwood’s Plaistow Road ground currently has a Division 1 grading, while Broadbridge Heath could be promoted from Division 3 to Division 2.
Paul Beard, secretary of the SCFL said: “One of the issues discussed was whether we had to relegate or promote clubs and promoting extra teams from Division 2 to make up the numbers.”
Meanwhile, Roffey have been reprieved after their last place finish in Division 3. Chairman Roger Berwick said: “We are relieved, we can move forward now.”
