JOHN Maggs said the first half in last night’s 7-1 defeat to Harrow Borough was the worst 45 minutes he had experienced in 11 years as Horsham manager.

The Hornets went ahead through Gary Charman, but then capitulated in the face of some slick football from Harrow who scored five first half goals. The misery was compounded by a straight red card for Michael Hector, while Harrow striker Rocky Baptiste struck a hat trick.

Maggs said: “I have to say that was the worst performance in the first 45 minutes ever since I have been at this football club.

“And that goes from the frontman to the goalkeeper. It was bordering on embarrassment, they let themselves down and let the club down.”
