Gary Charman is in talks with four “exciting” new players as he looks to add quality to his Horsham squad ahead of their first pre-season friendly later this month.
The player/manager confirmed that Tony Nwachukwu and Billy Joe King would be part of next year’s team, along with four Under-18 players.
And although he is confident of keeping his best senior players from last year’s squad he is currently keeping things “close to his chest” for fear of other clubs swooping in.
Youngsters Harry Smith, George Hole, Jake Legrange and Adam Wicking have committed their futures to the club with two more expected to also sign.
Having confirmed that winger Nwachukwu and left-back King were still Horsham players, Charman said: “I want to assure the Horsham fans that things are in the pipeline but I want to keep my cards very close to my chest because I’m concerned about the players I might losebefore they’ve officially signed because of club’s offering more money.
“I hope to be able to name all those who are staying next week when I’ll know nearly my whole squad.”
Charman hopes among them will be a number of new additions, adding: “I’m in talks with four players who are all very, very good and I’m hoping to get at least two or three signed.” The players are in their second week back in training ahead of their first friendly against Newhaven on Saturday July 19.
