BROADBRIDGE Heath under-18s rounded off an outstanding season by lifting the Sussex County League Cup.
Goals from man of the match Michael Wood and Jude Nwachukwu put the Bears two up against Eastbourne Borough before half time, before a Stuart Barber flick on from Andy Putnam’s free kick added deserved gloss to a famous victory for the Bears.
A late Eastbourne consolation could not put a dampner on the Heath celebrations.
Having already missed out on one trophy this season, in the Sussex Cup final, Heath were in no mood to see more silverware go begging.
And they started with a desire which overwhelmed an Eastbourne Borough side sitting top of their league with a +70 goal difference.
After just six minutes, Barber found Nwachukwu, who fed Wood to smash home the opener.
Shane Meech, Wood (twice) and Ollie Moore had chances to extend the advantage with Borough clearly on the ropes.
Ben Ganesh was called into one superb save, but otherwise Heath were in control with their four pronged attack.
Nwachukwu made it 2-0 after latching on to Wood’s pass and lashing home a brilliant finish from 20 yards - prompting huge celebrations to match his backflip.
Jack Petersen smashed a penalty against the crossbar, but Barber glanced in Andy Putnam’s devilish free kick before Eastbourne’s late consolation to seal cup glory.
