James Baker has quit Storrington FC to become manager of Worthing United.
Baker has earned a reputation for good football in the County League and decided his future lay elsewhere after Division 1 club Worthing came calling. He made the step up from managing Storrington’s reserves last season and alongside joint-boss Nigel Dyer, guided the Swans to a ninth place finish in Division 1, winning 11 league games.
Storrington chairman Stan Rhodie said: “There were rumours we had spoken to James about and he did say he had been asked, but had not decided what to do, but we got a text message from him saying he had decided to move on. “I’m a bit disappointed, I thought he could have stayed on another year.”
