Bridges came close early on through Brannon O’Neill, but while there was a lot of good play by the home side, Horsham were more clinical and a break down the right after 15 minutes ended with Kieran Lavery sliding the ball home.

Five minutes later Lavery added another with a simple header after the ball criss-crossed a number of times in a packed goalmouth. And two minutes after that Rob O’Toole was credited with the third although the last touch was probably made by a Bridges defender.

Kieran Thorp made three excellent saves as Horsham, inspired by midfielder Lewis Taylor, looked dangerous every time they broke forward with pace, but the second half was more competitive as both sides made a number of changes.

Ben Bacon, O’Neill and Tom Tolfrey all came close for the home side, but five minutes from time Horsham had a chance for a fourth goal when they were awarded a penalty, but 16 year old keeper Leo Anderson made a fine low save to deny O’Toole.
