'It’s a shame we couldn’t find the second, third or the fourth goal' - Crawley Town boss on Harrogate Town draw

Max Watters scored the only goal for the Reds on 27 minutes and Yems rued the chances that his side had missed.

He said: "You would’ve taken the point but with the time they scored their goal and the amount of chances we created today, you’ve got to say, yeah, they (Harrogate) kept at it.

"Fair play to them. Did we see the game out properly? I don’t think we did.

"It’s a shame we couldn’t find the second, third or the fourth, we had enough chances to. But that’s the game.

"Last week we scored six and this time we scored one. That’s football for you.

"They’re a strong side, I keep telling people there’s no easy games at this level. You come away from home with a point.

"Would you be happy with a point before? Yes. Would you be happy with a point after that game? No."

Yems also made four changes to the side that had beaten Torquay in the FA Cup last week with Joe McNerney receiving specific praise.

"Joe came in because Jordan (Tunnicliffe) is injured. That’s the beauty of having people ready and playing games that we’re playing even though you get a bit of stick for that now and again."

McNerney himself completed the 90 minutes after a spell on the sidelines and he felt that the Reds had dropped two points following the result.

He said: "I think tomorrow and the rest of the week we’ll see it as a point gained but at the moment it’s two dropped.

"We were in control of that game and we should have been two or three up at half-time.

"I think when you’re in a goal with them (Harrogate) they’re going to do what they did at the end there, launch balls into the box and they got their joy so, really, I think it’s two points dropped.

"I’m sure they would’ve been disappointed with their first half really.

"As I said I think we should’ve had two or three.

"We were making chances quite easily so they’re always going to come out stronger second half.

"I think there was maybe a few tired legs and maybe we allowed them into the game a little bit.

"It’s a disappointing goal to concede really.

"It’s a good point on the road. We haven’t had the best form on the road so we are taking a point home and keeping the run going but we would’ve like three."

McNerney also believes the seven-day break his side have before they host Carlisle on 21 November will make the Reds even stronger.

He said: "It’s been a mad run. We’ve had lots of Tuesday games.

"I think it will be nice to have a little break, a little breather.

"We’ve got a few coming back now from suspensions, concussions, injuries, all sorts so it’ll be a strong squad next time out.

"We’re playing really good football to be honest. I’ve been really impressed watching from the sidelines.

"We’ve been playing some really good football, so we deserve to be winning games like we are doing so we have just got to keep that momentum and confidence going."
