YM were pegged back by a last gasp goal from Matt Percival’s free kick, just as they looked to have secured a 3-2 win courtesy of goals from Kevin Burgess, Brad Curtis and Leroy Hyett in the Sussex County League Division 1 clash at the Caburn.

And despite seeing two points stolen away for the second successive week, Buckland was delighted with his team’s efforts.

“It was the best we’ve played all season, and our best performance since I’ve been at the club,” he declared. “They [Ringmer] got out of jail, not us, and their manager said that to me at the end. We were fantastic for the whole game.

“It was a tremendous performance and I’m really, really proud of the players. If we’d played like we did this evening all season, then God only knows where it would have taken us.”
