Horsham 'light on numbers' for Potters Bar Town clash

Dominic Di Paola revealed he has many injury concerns ahead of this week’s Isthmian Premier Division clash at home to Potters Bar Town.

The 12th-place side earned a draw at league leaders Worthing on Saturday and have taken the same number of points as the Hornets from their past six games, eight.

However, Di Paola admitted that Horsham might be missing some key players. He said: “That’s my biggest worry because at the moment we’re looking really light on numbers again.

“I’m hoping with a bit of a breather this week, some will come back to fitness, but that’s a massive concern for me because we do seem to have a lot of injuries at the moment.

“Biff (Joe Shelley) is 50/50, Jack Brivio’s going to be out, Rob O’Toole’s still recovering from concussion and Lee Harding took a whack near the end of the Carshalton game.”

The two clubs’ meeting back in November was a close-run affair until the final five minutes when goals from Lea Dawson and Harding kept the Hornets at the top of the table.

Since then, the Scholars have signed prolific goalscorer Marvin Morgan to add to their attacking ranks which already boast John Hutchinson and Ben Ward-Cochrane who have scored a combined 33 goals this season.

Morgan opened the scoring in Potters Bar’s draw away to Worthing on Saturday and Di Paola insists this will be another test.

He said: “I was really impressed with them up at their place. We were really lucky to come away with a win.

“They had little spells in the game and the pitch was difficult.”
