Horsham FC have now seen three successive matches postponed while a large number of Sussex County League games are again off today (Saturday) as the wet weather continues to wreak havoc.

The Hornets’ game away at Leatherhead was called off on Friday with the Surrey side’s Fetcham Grove pitch still under heavy flooding.

It follows postponements against Eastbourne Town and then Three Bridges on Boxing Day, meaning Horsham haven’t played since beating Crawley Down on December 17. The weather has so far ruined their festive fixture list, though they will be desperate for the New Year’s Day clash away at Worthing to go ahead.

The County League schedule has also been badly hit by the persistent rainfall with only five matches played on Boxing Day, and a number of today’s games are already off. Here’s a list of those on or off locally:

Still ON (as of 12pm today): Horsham YMCA v East Grinstead Town (3pm at Gorings Mead); Storrington v AFC Uckfield (2pm at The Rec); Siddlesham v Billingshurst (2pm at The Rec, Sidlesham).

Definitely OFF: Wick & Barnham United v Steyning, Hurstpierpoint v Roffey.

At 12pm today the following were still on subject to pitch inspections: Loxwood v Haywards Heath FC (3pm at Plaistow Road); Oakwood v Broadbridge Heath (3pm Tinsley Lane).
