Stags manager Paul Cox was quoted in a local newspaper earlier in the week saying the forward was on his shortlist of players to sign and Sinclair was left out of Crawley’s squad to play Rotherham on Saturday.

Sinclair, 26, joined Crawley from Peterborough for £100,000 in August of last year but has struggled to nail down a first-time place, and following Reds 2-2 draw with the Millers, boss Gregory said: “He’s been talking to another team over the last few days, (but) I don’t think anything’s been completed so he’ll come back with us no doubt tomorrow morning.”

Sinclair has scored four goals in 12 games in all competitions for Crawley.
