Crawley Town new signing Liam Donnelly is looking forward to the season’s opener at Oxford United.
The 19-year-old Northern Irish international arrived at Reds on Friday on a month’s loan from Championship club Fulham.
He said: “I want to go on and play as much League football as possible and am looking forward to it.
“It’s a good experience to play men’s football and hopefully I’ll get the chance to extend it after my initial loan as well. It’s a completely different environment. You just have to adapt. You have everything done for you, training pitches at top clubs.
“I played for Northern Ireland but then didn’t play much football last season as I was injured for basically all of last season so I am here to play as much football as I can.
“I know about quite a bit about Crawley because I study all the leagues and have heard of some of them like Gwion Edwards.
“I want to play as much as I can in the initial loan agreement and then take it from there.
“I want to help Crawley do well during my stay here. I’ll give 100 percent all the time - it doesn’t matter who I’m playing for.
“It’s an opportunity which I want to grab with both hands.”
