Impressive Brighton defender agrees 'testing' loan move to Championship outfit

Albion’s Norwegian under-21 international to get his first taste of Championship football, after successful spell in Germany last season.

Leo Ostigard has joined Championship side Coventry City on loan for the 2020/21 season.

The 20-year-old defender was a regular in Bundesliga 2 for St Pauli last season, making 28 league appearances during a loan at spell in Germany and will now test himself with the newly promoted Sky Blues.

Technical director Dan Ashworth said, “Leo has done well during pre-season, on the back of a really impressive spell with St Pauli last season; one which sparked a lot of interest both here and abroad.

“The Championship has been an excellent testing ground for some of our young players in recent years and we want to see Leo to make the most of this opportunity.

“Playing in the Championship presents a different challenge to what he would have experienced last season in Germany. We’re looking forward to see how he adapts and we wish him well.”
