White and Sanchez both graduated through Brighton's academy and both have established themselves this season in the Premier League with Albion.

Sanchez has enjoyed a remarkable rise this campaign considering he started the season as the No 3 keeper following his loan at League One Rochdale.

Head coach Graham Potter however had bold plans for the 6ft 6in Spaniard who made his debut at Tottenham last November and has since gone on to become the regular No 1.

His unexpected rise, including a call-up to the Spain squad, caught many Albion fans by surprise but White believes Sanchez always had it in him to succeed at the highest level.

“If you asked anybody at the club, they wouldn't have doubted that Rob would play in the Premier League," White said.

“The first day he came in it was mind-blowing how good he was. He was miles ahead of everyone else – the quality, the power he has is next level.

"He's found his level now and he's here to stay."

Of his international call-up, White added: “With Rob nothing really surprises you, whatever he wants to do he can. He can go all the way.”

White and Sanchez are both expected to be involved at Wolves this Sunday as they look to conclude their Premier League campaign on a high.

Victory against Leeds last weekend leaves Brighton 10 points above the relegation with four matches remaining.

Sanchez however is keen to surpass last season's record Premier League points tally of 41.

“I want to try and keep as many clean sheets as possible," said the 23-year-old keeper. "Maintain the level that I am playing and obviously stay safe and take it game-by-game.

"If we can beat that (points tally) and get even more points then that would be unbelievable. But we are always saying we can do more in every game, so it is just at about taking it game-by-game and do our best in every game.”

“It (Wolves) will be a really tough game for us, but with the win (Leeds) we are feeling positive, have plenty of confidence and hopefully we can reach the 40-point mark.”
