In Group A, Billingshurst made the worst possible start, losing two wickets in the first over, but made a reasonable recovery through Max Hollander and Callum Easton.

However their total of 78 was successfully chased down by Southwater, whose batsmen were all in the runs.

Oliver MaCrea with 22 not out and Sam Cooper with an unbeaten 16 were the stand out performers as they reached 82-2 to take 15 points.

Week six of the Under-12s League saw Barns Green enjoy a good day with two wins from two.

First they beat Lindfield, who were in trouble by the end of the third over, with Ellie Monk grabbing two wickets to reduce them to 8-4. Harry Konniotes (29) and Robert Dean (23) completely reversed the situation before both were dismissed as Lindfield reached 68-6.

Barn’s Green’s early batting was blown away by Robert Dean who took a superb 4-20 from his three overs, but Ellie Monk, batting on her own in the last five overs, got Green over the line.

Lindfield then beat Lingfield, who were unable to cope with some fine bowling and were all out for 38. In reply Josh Britton steered Lindfield to victory with 18 not out.

Batmen dominated the final game between Barns Green and Lingfield. Connor Blanchard (25 not out), Ellie Monk (21 not out), Alfie Birchfield (21 not out) and James Christer (20 not out) all retired to help Barns Green amass a total of 116-2 from ten overs.

Lingfield were busy at the top of their innings, but once the aggressive Connor Dixon retired the run rate became too tough in a much-improved display.
