Sussex Slam - Local teams discover group stage opponents

The excitement around the inaugural Sussex Slam built even further this week as the four regions and 19 groups were confirmed.

AJW Jets, Barns Green Badgers, Billingshurst Bruisers, Broadbridge Heath Malayalees, Horsham Lions, Kilnwood Vale Kings, Roffey Boars, Slinfold Rams, Southwater Scorchers and the Warnham Warlocks have been put into the north region of the competition.

Meanwhile Dynamo Poynings, Watersfield Warriors and the West Chiltington & Thakeham Windmills are in the west region.

Malayalees, Kings, Boars and the Warlocks have been placed in group N3.

Badgers, Lions and the Scorchers have been placed in group N4 alongside Jolly Tanners.

Jets, Bruisers and the Rams have been drawn in group N5.

The Warriors and the Windmills have been drawn in group W3 alongside Findon Horses.

Poynings have been drawn in group W5 alongside the Portslade Pirates, Shark Attack and Shoreham Swingers.

The competition will commence on May 4 and run through to the Plate and Cup finals which will take place at 1st Central County Ground, the home of Sussex CCC, on September 7 and 8.

The deadline for registering teams might have passed, but it’s not too late to get involved in an exciting new cricket contest coming to Sussex this summer.

All 69 teams entered are open for players, and you can register your interest at sussexslam.co.uk to be put in contact with your local team.
